Clark County Clerk Lynn Marie Goya will open a temporary marriage license office at Harry Reid International Airport to help couples come to Las Vegas for upcoming special days and dates, including Valentine’s Day , Presidents Day weekend and dates 2/20/22 and Tuesday 2/22/22.
The temporary office will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily from February 10 to 22 in the baggage claim area of the airport’s Terminal 1, near Carousel 5. This is the fourth year that the Clerk’s Office will open a temporary marriage license office at the airport.
“Las Vegas is the wedding capital of the world and this month of February will be especially busy as couples take advantage of Valentine’s Day weddings and of course 2/22/22. Couples love the convenience of the Pop-Up Marriage License Bureau because it gives them even more time to enjoy the variety of experiences we offer in Las Vegas,” Goya said.
The temporary office will only issue marriage licenses and will only accept credit card payments. Couples can also obtain a marriage license at the main office of the Marriage License Bureau at 201 E. Clark St. in downtown Las Vegas. The main office is on the south side of the Regional Justice Center, just three blocks south of the Fremont Street Experience, and is open 8 a.m. to midnight daily, including holidays.
Couples coming to Las Vegas to get married are encouraged to complete a pre-application for a marriage license, which can be found on the county clerk’s new website at weddings.vegas. (Select “Marriage License Application” in the upper left corner of the website.) After completing the online application, the couple will receive a reference number which they can show to the Assistant Registrar at any branch of the Bureau marriage licenses. Couples wishing to obtain a marriage license must present appropriate identification, such as a driver’s license or passport (a full list of authorized identification documents and other information is available on the Registrar’s webpage) . Marriage licenses cost $102. The Marriage License Bureau, a division of the Clark County Clerk’s Office, issues approximately 80,000 marriage licenses per year and is generally the busiest in the world. Typically, more than 1,500 marriage licenses are issued in the days leading up to and including Valentine’s Day, about double the number of licenses issued during a non-holiday period. Couples can find a directory of wedding services and vendors on WeddingChamber.Vegas. The wedding industry is also an important component of our tourism economy, as people who come to Clark County to attend a wedding or get married generate more than $2.5 billion in annual economic activity, including for accommodation, entertainment, restaurants and other non-gaming activities.
