Upcoming ‘Bingo Queen’ Benefit Show – Knox County VillageSoup

CAMDEN – Camden Opera House, 29 Elm St., will co-present John Burstein’s latest original musical, to benefit Knox County Meals on Wheels. “Bingo Queen” will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, July 29 and 30.

Burstein, also known worldwide for his educational performances, videos and Slim Goodbody TV shows, has a knack for creating fun and original musicals. His last production for Meals on Wheels was 2016’s “The Night Kitchen,” which funded approximately 1,736 locally delivered meals.

“Bingo Queen” brings audiences on board with interactive bingo games with prizes, plus a say in which character gets the titular crown. The fast-paced production includes videos, musical numbers and a lively emcee, played by Burstein himself. The Midcoast resident promises a fabulous show for a good cause.

MCH Meals on Wheels delivers hot, nutritious meals to homebound seniors and people with disabilities in Knox County Monday through Friday. These meals, which can be delivered long or short term, are cooked from scratch every day in Making Community Happen’s Rockland kitchen.

Bingo Queen tickets are $20 in advance, $25 the day of the show. Spectators can choose their own reserved seats online at camdenoperahouse.com or by calling 236-3154 ahead of time; seats will be allocated on a second best available at the door.
